[ This is totally what Ja'far wanted while everyone was stuck in this stupid Fort, right? Judar's been conveniently not crossing paths with the guy, and at this point he's nursing a chill whenever he can get under enough blankets and where there's a ray of sun through a window, so he's away from any wind. Hence a text! ]

Can I ask you something?

It's fine if you don't feel like it. You can just ignore this if that's the case.

( Ja'far is... well, he's confused. And Ja'far's been feeling rather sick himself in this Fort, so it takes him a couple hours to answer. )

[ It was unfortunately intentional, and he didn't feel like he should in some ways. Except this was one of those few times where he couldn't just dismiss it all and act like nothing would come of it. ]

I was told that you were from the point I warned you about. After we succeeded? So...

[ There's no way that Ja'far would care about answering if it was about him, right? ]

Did anyone survive stopping the Apocalypse and David and everything?

( It takes Ja'far a good half hour before he responds. )

Sin sacrificed himself to stop David. He used his rukh and made David burn through what the Holy Palace had left, and disappeared along with it. I don't know what happened to him in truth. No one does.

You went off to try to explore the other dimensions. The others stayed to rebuild.

[ He was half expecting to get a response of how this was nonsense. Any answer was more than he expected. Really, with how unstable Sinbad was, he was prepared for all of this to lead into more problems.

He wasn't expecting a sacrifice. It'd be cruel to say what he'd normally say, and Judar's aware of what he could say that would've otherwise been normal from him. It was... cruel, though. He didn't want to think on those bitter thoughts. So instead; ]

I see. So there's a chance he survived after everything. Hopefully for you, and the others, he'll return as just himself.

( Ja'far freezes, and then is quiet again for a beat, before a fast response: )

Don't say things like that when you don't mean them, Judar. To say it like that is cruel.

I do mean it, though.

There's a lot of other things I'd say if I were Fallen right now. I don't want to be cruel.

( Ja'far's scoffing, unsure if it's the pain in his head talking or what Judar's saying that's making him dizzy. )

You are Fallen. You can't just be unfallen all of a sudden, not without help.



Ah. This place, they did something to you as well, then.

Great. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, then, that you for some reason mean what you're saying, but I still warn you Judar. If you're saying this simply to be cruel, then you're as foolish and childish and you've always been, and I will want nothing to do with you ever again. If, for some strange, ridiculous reason, you do mean what you say, then thank you, I guess. I still don't quite trust things from your mouth.

No magic, or magi, or anything like that. Meaning that what first put me into depravity isn't present. So yeah, this place did it.

[ He sends a photo with the blue eyes, but it's soon deleted and followed by a message. ]

Sorry. A picture won't help anything, would it? I'm being more genuine than I usually could be.

I thought those of us that went to stop David had all died, and Aspen said you were from a point after, to know I was actually trying to warn you. So

( Ja'far doesn't respond, too worked up and sick himself to want to engage with him. He has too much history with the black magi, too much bad history. )
