Regardless, what I mean is that man and some of his closest associates were of that ilk. They enjoyed killing, be it for the thrill of it, or for some otherwise unsavory notion. The man who trained me in the style of assassination I was raised in was one of them.
After seeing our first Sindria fall, I have wanted to stop men like him. Please, be careful with this person you met. If he truly finds killing fun, and the lack of it boring, he is not a person to associate with.

I suppose what I found strange was not that a cruel man might enjoy killing. It was the idea that he could find willing opponents. Although I am now wondering if, perhaps, his interpretation that they had all agreed to it was... entirely accurate.

... Regardless, though, is simply avoiding such people... really for the best? If they exist, and they are dangerous, we cannot simply turn a blind eye, can we?

If the world were as we wish it is, then those who are young would certainly always live longer than those who are old. But in such an ideal world, no one would do evil to begin with, and none of us would have to fight.
In the world as it is, children and old men die alike—for all kinds of reasons, whether or not they put themselves in harm's way. And those with the ability to protect others and fight against injustice must do so, no matter their age or circumstances... because otherwise, how will we ever create the world we all wish for?
...and besides, you cannot be all that old in the first place.
I still want you to be careful. Children should not have to be involved in things like this, especially when there are adults who can either do it or help. Please, if that person approaches you again, let me know. I want to make sure you are safe.

I truly... have no idea... There are questions I desperately want to ask, but at the same time, I am terrified of what the answers might be. And if I do find out, and then wish I had not... well, then what?
I also somehow doubt that nothing but good things occurred between the last moment I recall and the present as you know it. And I am worried about... what it will mean if I am unable to change anything that went wrong, but also what it will mean if I can.
... I had been terribly concerned about what must have happened to my friends in Magnostadt when I disappeared with no warning and arrived here. But Aladdin told me that from their perspective, I never vanished. And likewise, he told me that Marga... remains well and happy.
Maybe eventually I will be brave enough to hear the rest. But I think that, for now... that is enough.
